ALL MOVED IN!!!!

This is the corner I said I was going to have as much surrounding me as I possibly could. And I did! Sewing machine central...
Well I couldn"t have EVERYTHING around me, so if I need anything over here I actually have to get up from my comfy chair. The wooden cabinet to the left is something my son made for me for Christmas one year...it"s got my supplies for dying and stuffed with fabric as well.
This little form I bought when I went to Colorado last year..See the neat butterfly, I am supposed to try and make one of these. The wings will be easy enough but I"m not quite sure what to use for the body as it needs to be pretty sturdy. Any ides ladies please let me know.

More pics tomorrow of a few of my all time favorite things I have surrounding me in my sewing room...oh yeh, all moved in but haven"t done any stitching at all. Super busy with yardwork, yardwork, yardwork!!!

  4. Yeah, as Karen said.... too neat! What's up with that?!? Well, you'll have it busy and messy in no time. For the butterfly, what about using a cheap wire hanger? Or some heavier floral stem wire? Anyway, congrats on your new studio! Hugs, Cathy

  8. I am so jealous! What a lovely room. And I love the fishy themed wallpaper and trim. You know in dream interpretation, they say fish and fishing can be a symbol for thoughts that come from the subconcious, much like a creative inspiration. So I think they are entirely appropriate in a sewing room. I hope the flies on the wall will draw your creativity out (not that it needs help) where your conscious mind can catch those great ideas and turn them into artful CQs!

  9. Nice job Deb!! I'm jealous too, but only because your space is *so* organized. I have a room all to myself too, but it's a nightmare. Will you come over now and help me get mine all fixed up, nice like yours!!! Hehehe! I've just got to get rid of some of my non-stitching kind of crafts. Anyways, I'm happy for ya! Now get stitchin'! Hope to see you in CO?

  11. Debbie, what a wonderful space!!!!

Depending on how big your butterfly is, how about using one of the old, round clothes pins for your butterfly body --- hmmmmm...or maybe a regular pinchy style clothes pin so you could attach it wherever you'd like.

Congrats on your new sewing area!!!!

  14. Don't you just hate when you have to get out of your comfy chair? LOL I'm sure you will enjoy your new space. Would maybe a pipe cleaner work for the butterfly body?...or is this a much larger butterfly? If it is larger, would a wire frame maybe with batting for form and wrapped with ribbon or fabric work?

  15. Looks like a wonderful space to create, I'll be right over! I could see the wings CQ'ed, hmmmmmmm an idea for my studio, I love bugs flying about. As for the body, the large macrame wooden barrel beads painted , glittered, or fabric covered might work. At Hobby Lobby they had a bag of large assorted wooden beads in the children's craft area.???? Our bead shop has large colored glass beads that would work for a neat body too.
    Hugs and smiles,
    Pat

  17. Gosh, I really need to get out more. LOL. Your room is lovely and BIG! But it's funny how they seem to shrink over time :-)

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words and encouragement. It's hard for a girl to loose her mom. So, I'm sending you healing hugs, too.
